Acquisition and Renewal of ECS-ID(Student Account)

ECS-ID is issued for students and the following Faculty and Staff.

1.Students

◆ Acquisition of ECS-ID account

April and October entrants: ECS-ID account is issued and a notification letter will be sent via the academic office of his/her affiliated faculty at the time of enrollment.

Entrants other than April or October: Please come to the ICT Support Center and bring your student ID issued by your affiliated department to apply for an ECS-ID account.

Termination and renewal of your ECS-ID account

ECS-ID account is ceased when you graduate. However; ECS-ID account is renewed if your status changes to one of the followings. If this applies to you, please read how to renew your account here.

Japan Society for the Promotion of Science(JSPS) researcher

Guest research associate

Private collaborative researcher

Contract researcher

Research fellow

Part-time lecturer (External)

2. Faculty and Staff listed above

◆ Acquisition of ECS-ID account

Application must be lodged by himself/herself at the ICT Support Center for a new and renewal application. Application can also be submitted to the libraries/centre listed at the bottom of this page or through your department.

Please submit an application form with the following document(s):

- A letter or certificate that is issued by a director of your department. It must verifies your employment at Kyoto University (name, title, department and contract term) and has an official seal of your director and/or Kyoto University

- JSPS ID card (if applicable)

- Certificate of Professor Emeritus(if applicable)

Termination and renewal of your ECS-ID account

- Application for renewal of your ECS-ID account must be made at every fiscal year if you continue to use your account. For renewal application procedure, please see the above.

- No renewal application is required for Professor Emeritus.

- No renewal application is required for JSPS researchers for the period of his/her contract.

Applications can be submitted by post for those who are staying or living in overseas or distant areas from the university. Please contact us for more details or any inquiries.
