Preparing for Move or Leave

If you change the PC you use due to a change in personnel, please ensure that the One Time Password can be displayed on the new PC. If you are leaving the university, reset the settings on the PC you were using and confirm your email address for notification in case you need to take over or confirm the password at short notice after you leave.
The main operations are as follows.

  1. Confirm notification mail address
  2. Export TOTP
  3. Reset authentication
  4. Import TOTP

The support differs if you are using Authenticator (an app that displays one-time passwords) on a smartphone or in a browser. Please refer to the 'Preparation Content' below and perform the necessary operations.

The operations differ depending on whether you are using Authenticator on a smartphone or browser. Please check the respective correspondence tables and click on the links in the preparation details to check the necessary operations.

Smartphone Authenticator users.

Only "1" should be carried out, whether you are moving departments or leaving.

About those who leave their jobs:
If you have already deleted Authenticator from your device, and if you need to log in to the system, e.g. to take over, before your SPS-ID is completely deactivated after retirement, please use '1. Confirm notification mail address' to confirm your one-time password.

For those moving departments, carry out "1 to 4"; for those leaving, carry out "1" and "3".

Make sure that a valid email address is registered, as this setting is required in case of trouble with multi-factor authentication.

2. Export Authenticatorʼs settings

You can export the configuration information from the browser's Authenticator and import it to the PC to which you are transferring to take over the configuration information. Please export the configuration information from the Authenticator you normally use.

3. Reset authentication

After exporting, the Authenticator still contains its own configuration information, so reset the authentication after exporting.

4. Import Authenticatorʼs settings

Before importing, first check Authenticator status of the web browser.
Import the configuration information by clicking on the link that corresponds to the status of Authenticator below.

Authenticator displays "No accounts to display."

The predecessor's configuration information has been reset. Import your own configuration information and set Authenticator to display a one-time password.

Authenticator displays someone else's one-time password

The configuration information of your predecessor has been left behind. Please perform a reset and continue to import your own configuration information and set Authenticator to display the one-time password.

No Authenticator

Authenticator has not been added to your browser. Please add it to your browser, then import your own settings and set Authenticator to display a one-time password.
