Setting up at the First-Time

This manual is for those who are setting up multi-factor authentication for the first time, e.g. when joining a company. Depending on your daily working style, you can set it up either on your smartphone or on your web browser. If you want to set up more terminals, see 'Additional Settings' after the initial set-up.
If you have set up the system once and want to set it up again due to a problem or other reason, the operating procedure in the manual below will not work. See the procedure under 'Initialization'.

What is multi-factor authentication?

  • A multi-factor authentication system uses a second factor in addition to the SPS-ID and password.
  • A second authentication factor is using one of the following methods.
    • "Time based One Time Password(TOTP)" ⇒ a 6 digit number that changes each 30 seconds.
      ※ Daily use.
    • "OTP (One Time Password) notified by e-mal" ⇒ Receive a 8 digit number that can be used once within 24 hours.
※Only possible after completion of initial set-up.
  • To check TOTP, use Authenticator app.
  • Authenticator is set up and used on a smartphone or computer.
