I applied to use Office for Shared PCs (on-premises Office) and downloaded the ZIP file for Windows, but I cannot install it.

There are several possible reasons why Office for Shared PCs (on-premises Office) cannot be installed.
Please check the following points.
1. The downloaded ZIP file has not been extracted (unzipped)
The file downloaded from the Office for Shared PCs download page is in ZIP format (compressed).
Although you can view the files inside by double-clicking the downloaded file, attempting to run them directly will fail because files required for installation will be missing, preventing the installation from proceeding.
By right-clicking the downloaded ZIP file and choosing "Extract All", you can run the files inside. Please execute the batch file (file with the ".bat" extension) within the extracted folder to start the installation.
*Depending on your PC settings, file extensions may be hidden. You can display them by checking the "File name extensions" checkbox under the "View" tab/menu in File Explorer.
2. Attempting to run the "setup.exe" file directly
The installation of the on-premises Office is initiated by executing the batch file (file with the ".bat" extension).
Taking Office Professional Plus as an example, clicking the link on the download page will download "opp-2024-ja.zip."
After extracting it, you will find three files: "config-opp-2024-ja.xml", "install-opp-2024-ja.bat", and "setup.exe". Running "install-opp-2024-ja.bat" (the batch file) automatically executes "setup.exe" using the configuration in "config-opp-2024-ja.xml" to download and install the required files.
Therefore, running "setup.exe" alone will result in an error and the installation cannot be completed.
3. Other Office products (such as Microsoft 365 or third-party Office-compatible software) are already installed
The on-premises Office cannot be installed alongside other Office products.
Please uninstall any other Office products before installing the on-premises Office.
4. Not connected to the internet
An internet connection is required during the installation of on-premises Office to download the necessary files.
Since license activation is also performed during this process, please make sure your PC is connected to the internet while carrying out the installation.
