Multi-Factor Authentication

Designed for StudentsFacultyStaff

When logging in to important services using a university-wide account (ECS-ID/SPS-ID), multi-factor authentication is required, which uses a second factor in addition to the password. In Kyoto University's multi-factor authentication, a one-time password, which is different for each user and can only be used once, is entered as the second factor.

Service Features

  • The"multi-factor authentication" used at Kyoto University is a "two-factor authentication" that combines two elements.
  • The first factor is a conventional ID and password, and the second factor is a one-time password.
  • To obtain the one-time password, you will need an e-mail address or a specific application.
  • If this is your first time setting up, please set up using your e-mail address.
  • To "Setup Again" the multi-factor authentication, use the e-mail address registered in the initial setting.
  • The application can be used by performing "Additional Settings" after completing the initial settings.
  • Since there are several manuals for different purposes such as "Setup Again" and "Change Devices" please refer to "Manuals"
