How are data handled and backed up?

  • Data are stored in a distributed and redundant manner across multiple storage nodes. Measures such as file versioning on storage systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and backup power generators are also in place. However, since no off-site backups are performed, it is not possible to completely eliminate the risk of data loss due to large-scale system failures or natural disasters. Users are therefore responsible for backing up their important data.
  • There is an application that synchronizes data with personal computers, which can be used as a simple backup solution depending on the configuration.
    • Official Nextcloud applications:: https://nextcloud.com/install/   (In principle, support for issues or malfunctions related to these applications is not provided.)
  • We are also considering a trial offering of an optional feature to back up data to external cloud services. If you are interested, please contact us for further information.
