Issuance of a temporary ECS-ID

Members of the public, as well as members of Kyoto University, can use the Educational Computer System, for participation in events such as public lectures and seminars. For such events, members of the public can get a temporary ECS-ID. Use of a temporary ECS-ID is under the control of person who is given the ID. However, a Kyoto University faculty and staff member must make application for the temporary ECS-ID on behalf of that person.

If you wish to get a temporary ECS-ID for the first time, you should consult with the "Send inquiries" ahead of time about the time planned to use the temporary ECS-ID and the number of persons who will use one.
After consultation, please follow the steps below to apply.

Please apply for a temporary ECS-ID at least two weeks before your scheduled use date, as it will take time to be issued.

1.Click on the following link.
Application Form (Login to the Faculty and Staff Groupware is required)
2.Click on the "教育用コンピュータシステム・一時利用アカウント交付申請書".
3.Fill in the necessary information and click "経路を設定する". On the next screen, click on "内容を確認する".

Once your application is approved and your temporary ECS-ID is issued, you will receive a document containing your account information via the message function in the Faculty and Staff Groupware.

Regarding the use of satellite laboratories, persons with a temporary ECS-ID should contact the administration section of the department in charge of the satellite laboratory. For use of the laboratory of the Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, South Building, contact the person in charge of Inter-University services in the South Building of the Center.
