Virtual terminal

Unable to connect to VDI in Chrome or Edge

When attempting to connect to VDI using the latest Chrome, Edge, etc. when using a BYOD device, etc., the user may repeatedly experience the following screen or alert and not transition to the desktop (OS) login screen.

※Some Firefox users may also experience similar symptoms. In this case, please refer to the following information, as it is expected that the symptoms will be resolved by modifying the Firefox proxy settings.

■The main display message for this symptom:

  • The connection has been lost. Attempting to reconnect your session for 5 minutes
  • (アラート)10.x.x.x 'のデスクトップエージェントに接続できません。

If you experience this symptom, please refer to the following proxy settings for each OS you are using and confirm that you are using the recommended settings that do not cause the symptom.

(About the proxy setting recommendations,)

In the proxy settings of the "Network & Internet Settings" screen of your operating system, set "Use a proxy server" to OFF (recommended), or, if you need to turn this setting ON, add the following line in the "except for addresses" field below the setting

vdi.ecs.kyoto-u.ac.jp; 130.54.13.130
(On macOS or in the Firefox settings screen, 'vdi.ecs.kyoto-u.ac.jp, 130.54.13.130')

Please restart your browser (chrome, edge) and try accessing the site again.
