Renewal of the Institute for Information Management and Communication Website

The Institute for Information Management and Communication (IIMC) will fully renew its website (www.iimc.kyoto-u.ac.jp) on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 (*1). Please note that the exact date may vary slightly depending on development progress.

This renewal aims to improve user convenience and involves major changes, including a redesign of the site and an update to the content management system (CMS). The following improvements will also be introduced:

  • Target-specific service on the homepage: Displays frequently used services and important announcements for user categories such as students, staff, faculty members, and part-time lecturers.
  • Shortcuts: A shortcut menu will always be displayed on the right side of the screen, enabling easy access to frequently visited pages.
  • Labels for announcements: Labels will be added to announcements such as system troubles, making it easier to understand their content at a glance.
  • Unified authentication: Content previously restricted by IP address will now be accessible through authentication using faculty and staff accounts (SPS-ID) and student or part-time lecturer accounts (ECS-ID) (*2).

Notes:

*1 While the Info! No. 30 originally indicated a planned renewal in "mid-December," the schedule was postponed to early March due to development progress.

*2 Pages requiring confidentiality will be referred to as "Login Required" instead of "On-campus Only," and this will be reflected in the site's display as well.
