Call for Proposal of Joint Usage and Research of JHPCN in FY2022
The Joint Usage/Research Center for Interdisciplinary Large-scale Information Infrastructures (JHPCN) calls for proposal of the joint usage and research in FY2022.
JHPCN is a "Network-Type" Joint Usage/Research Center, certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and comprises eight super-computer equipped centers affiliated with Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University and Kyushu University, among which Information Technology Center at the University of Tokyo is functioning as the core institution of JHPCN.Each JHPCN member institution will provide its research resources for joint research projects.
From this call, in addition to each of the constituent centers, the "mdx" computing infrastructure, which is jointly operated by the National Institute of Informatics, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research University of Tsukuba will newly provide computing resource for the joint research.
The available research resources are computers, storages, visualization systems and so on. Some of them can be connected to facilities inside and outside of JHPCN member institutions via high speed networks for the purposes of exchange, accumulation and processing of data. It is also possible to connect research resources of JHPCN member institutions with SINET5 L2VPN.
If being adopted as a joint research project, you have the following advantages.
1. You can use research resources (computer, storage, network, visualization device etc) ,which are provided by facilities with supercomputer, large-scale storage, large scale network attached to Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, Tokyo University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University and Kyushu University, with free of charge.
2. In conducting joint research, you can obtain advice and support from leading researchers enrolled at each facilities as cooperative researchers.
