The IIMC website has been renewed.
The Institute for Information Management and Communication website (hereafter referred to as the “IIMC Website”) was renewed on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Aiming to create a more user-friendly website, we have made the following improvements:
1. Service Display Area by User Type
The IIMC provides services to a diverse range of users, including students, faculty, staff, part-time lecturers, and emeritus professors. Since the available services vary depending on the user type, we have introduced large buttons on the homepage that allow users to select their category and easily access relevant services and information.
2. Shortcuts
A “Shortcut” pop-up has been added to the right side of the screen, allowing users to quickly access frequently used services from any page.
3. Label
Labels indicating the current status are now displayed on the homepage and in the list of system troubles and maintenance information. This makes it easier to check the latest status at a glance.
4. Unified Authentication
Previously, pages containing confidential information, known as “internal access only” pages, were restricted based on IP addresses. Moving forward, access will require authentication using faculty and staff accounts (SPS-ID) or student and part-time lecturer accounts (ECS-ID). As part of this change, these pages will be referred to as “login required” pages instead of “internal access only” pages. Additionally, a lock icon will be displayed on links to these pages to make them easily identifiable.
5. Info! Blog
Previously, the IIMC published its magazine, Info!, as a printed booklet and in PDF format for internal and external distribution. However, since Info! was published only two times per year, there were cases where service updates were not reflected in a timely manner. The Info! Blog will feature detailed guides on services and highlight existing ones, distinguishing itself from concise, fact-based news. Blog articles will first be published on the IIMC Website and later included in the printed booklet, which will continue to be issued two times a year.
We will continue our efforts to make the IIMC Website as user-friendly as possible.
