Housing Services

The housing service provides installation space, power supply, air conditioning and information outlets for servers owned by departments using part of the data center facilities in the computer room of Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, North Building. This service can be used as a place to install newly procured computer systems for research projects.

Type of the service

Housing service has three types of services: "Carry-on rack type" which provides rack space to install, "Open rack type" which provides shared rack space prepared by IIMC and "Small device housing type" which enables to install small and low-power consumption devices. And there are two types of installation rooms: "Uninterruptible computer room" and "Computer room for research".

Uninterruptible computer room
  • Backup of the power supply for computers using off-grid power.
  • Users should prepare for UPS (about 1 to 5 minutes) to switch from grid power to off-grid power.

One small device
The sum of three sides of the external dimensions (width + depth + height) is 80cm or less and the power consumption is 100W or less.
Network - Information outlets with 1Gbps (The Port type is 1000Base-T)
- Information outlets with 10Gbps(The Port type is 10GBase-T)
Power supply - AC100V/15A(NEMA 5-15R)
- AC100V/20A(NEMA L5-20R)
- AC100V/30A(NEMA L5-30R)
- AC200V/30A(NEMA L6-30R)
  • It's possible to set either KUINS II or KUINS III
  • Communication between VLAN of KUINS III is available
  • Users should pay the usage fee for KUINS separately
