We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the registration and confirmation process, as we have not adequately explained the differences in display, functions, etc. from the former system. In the renewal of the KDB system (April 2022), there are some differences in operation and display from the former system. The points to note in the new system are explained below.

• Termination of the former system
  The former system will be terminated around the end of September 2022. Please take the following actions before then.
  
  
  • Changes in the URL of the public page
    Due to the switch to the new system, the URL of the public page has been changed. If you have posted the URL of the public page of the former system on your personal web site, etc., please correct it. Now when you access the URL of the public page of the former system, you will be forwarded to the URL of the new system.
  • Reference / Download of the data of former system
    The data of the former system can be referenced / downloaded by accessing the following URL. If you need the data of the former system, please download it before the system stopped.

• The researchmap items
  The number of items linked with researchmap has increased from 6 to 21. If you want to add/modify/delete the reserchmap items, please edit the data on the researchmap side.
• Automatic update to public pages
  In the new system, data on the public page are updated automatically by default to reduce user effort. Achievements registered in researchmap, data registered in the KAKEN database, teaching subjects assigned by the administration staff, and data of university administration will be automatically updated by default. You can change the update settings of the public page to [Manual Update] from [Individual Settings] => [Public Page Settings]. Please note that all data will not be updated to the public page unless you click [Update Information Using Web Input Form] => [Update Published Data] button when you set [Manual Update].
  
  
• The public page settings for imported data from external DB
  When data is automatically imported by linking to other databases (researchmap and KAKEN DB), only data that is publicly available on the source database will be registered. The public page settings of the researchmap items follows the settings on the researchmap side, so if you wish to make the data private, please set the data as private on the researchmap side. All information on the KAKEN DB is public, so it is also made public on KDB. The publication status cannot be changed on the KDB side. For other items which public page settings can be changed, please refer to the KDB Item List in the manual.
  
  
• The sort order of Papers and Teaching Subjects, etc.
  In the new system, Teaching Subject, Committee Memberships, Papers, MISC, etc. are displayed in the database order (registered order) by default. The order can be set for each item and can be changed by faculty members. If you wish to change the order of the items, please follow the procedure below.
  
  How to change the sort order of papers of the researchmap items to ascending order by publication date are as follows.
  
  

  1. Click on [Update information using WEB input form] -> [researchmap Items] -> [Research] -> [Papers]
  2. Click on [Change public display order] button.
  3. Select [Date of Publication] from pull down menu, and click on [ASC] button. You can also change the order by drag and drop.
  4. Click on [Apply change] button.
  5. Click on [Save] button.
  6. Click on [Update published data] button.

• [Major] tag on the achievement data of the reserchamp
  In researchmap, by setting an [Major] tag on the achievements data, only achievements you set [Major] tag can be filtered and displayed on the public page. Please note that the data with [Major] tag imported into the KDB will be displayed at the top, regardless of the sort order setting, and will not be filtered and displayed as in researchmap.
