このお知らせは来年度も京都大学に在籍される方および，京都大学大学院へ
進学される方へのものです．該当される方は最後まで読んでください．

新年度のECS-IDの取り扱いについては次のURLも参考にしてください

引き続き来年度も同じECS-ID(利用コード：a0で始まる8桁)，パスワード，
メールアドレスをご利用ください．
1. 身分や所属が変更になる方，変更になった方
進学・転学部・転学科される方など引き続き京都大学に在籍するが身分が変わ
る方(学部生→院生，院生→研究生，研究生→院生など)は，同じ
ECS-ID(利用コード：a0で始まる8桁)およびメールアドレスをそのままご利用
ください．(ただし，学生から教職員の身分に変わられる場合は該当しません)
なお，資格確認手続きの必要な方には5月から6月にかけてご案内をDEEPMailで
お知らせします．この案内がありましたら資格確認の手続きをしてください．
2. ファイル・メールの容量制限を厳守してください
ひとりの利用者が保存できるファイル容量は100MBまで，メール容量は300MBま
でです．
容量制限を守って適時，整理やバックアップを行い，決められた容量を超えな
いようにご協力ください．現在使用しているファイルおよびメールの容量は，
教育用コンピュータシステムPC端末のデスクトップにある「個人使用量確認」
アイコンを実行すると表示されます．
表示される情報は，ファイル使用量(Windows)は実時間で，ファイル
使用量(Linux)とメール使用量は前日の使用量が表示されます．

〔Linuxのゴミ箱内ファイルの削除〕
Linux 環境についてはGUIによるファイル消去は「ゴミ箱」に移動されるだけで，
ファイルはゴミ箱内に保存されたままになりますが，ファイル資源の有効利用
のために，ゴミ箱を定期的に削除します．ご注意ください．
なお，GNOME端末からrmコマンドでのファイル消去はその時点でファイルが削除
されます．
3．ファイルやメールの容量制限を越えた方への警告
ひとりの利用者が保存できるファイル容量は100MBまで，メール容量は300MBま
でです．
制限値を大幅に越えた利用者にはDEEPMailのメールアドレスへ「警告メール」
を送っています．改善されない場合は利用停止措置をとりますので，ご注意く
ださい．
4．プリンタ使用枚数
プリンタ使用可能枚数は4月1日から3月31日の間で200枚です．
印刷済み枚数の確認は教育用コンピュータシステムPC端末のデスクトップにあ
る「個人使用量確認」アイコンを実行すると表示されます．
200枚を超えた場合はメディアセンター南館・北館OSLおよび附属図書館OSLに設
置している課金プリンタをご利用ください．
毎年4月1日に残枚数の有無にかかわらず，プリンタ使用枚数を0枚にリセットし
ます．
5．サービスの変更による注意事項
(1) 夜間のPC端末サービスの停止
システムの保守作業を深夜2時から朝7時まで(5時間)行います．この間PC端末の
サービスは停止します．この時間帯にサテライト等でPC端末を利用された場合
は動作の保証はできません．
(2) 利用者ホームのバックアップ方法の変更
ディスク空き容量ひっ迫のため，WindowsのマイドキュメントおよびLinuxの
ホームディレクトリのバックアップ間隔を1週間に変更します．各自で重要な
ファイルはUSBメモリにバックアップをお願いします．
このバックアップはディスク障害に備えて行うもので，利用者が誤って消去し
たファイルの回復には使用できません．

ECS-ID and Educational Computer System
Preparation for the New Academic year

school of Kyoto University in the New Academic year

Please keep using the current account (same ECS-ID, password, and 
e-mail address).
1. Users who will change their status in Kyoto University in the new 
academic year.
Some may need to take a procedure to revise their registered status to 
keep your ECS account active. We will send to users who need to take 
this procedure, our notification of "Verification of User Eligibility 
for the Services of the Educational Computer System of the Institute 
for Information Management and Communication, Kyoto University" via 
DEEPMail in June. If you received it, follow its instruction.
2. Please adhere to the limitation of the storage of files and e-mails.
Each user is allowed to use 300 MB for e-mail and 100 MB for file 
storage. Please organize and backup your data regularly and keep the 
limitation. 
Your current file usage (Windows) and file usage　(Linux) and e-mails 
till the day before are shown on the screen of ECS system PCs (please 
click [個人使用量確認]).
- How to backup necessary files
Login to ECS system and save necessary files to USB thumb drive.
CD/DVD writing is not available on the PC.

# Attention! 
We delete all files in the trash box of Linux to suppress usage of 
our file storage regularly while they are not deleted immediately.
If you delete files with 'rm' command via GNOME terminal, the files are
deleted immediately.
3. Warning mail:Mailbox Quota Exceeded
Each user is allowed to use 300 MB for e-mail and 100 MB for file 
storage. 
We send warning message to the users whose usage exceed the limit and 
may suspend their account if they don't follow our instruction.
4. Limit on printing
Maximum 200 pages per year (from April 1 to March 31). If you exceed 
your limit, use the pay-per-print printers. You can check your usage 
on the screen of ECS system PCs (please click [個人使用量確認]).
The usage is reset on every April 1 regardless remaining pages. 
5. Precaution due to the change of service
5.1 Night interruption of PCs service
ECS-PCs will not be in service for maintenance work from 2:00 a.m. to 
7:00 a.m. every day. Please note we are not responsible for any trouble
with use of ECS-PCs during the hours at e.g. satellite computer rooms.
5.2 New procedure to backup
We backup "My Documents" on Windows and "Home Directory" on Linux 
weekly in order to suppress disk free usage. This is not for the 
restoration of the files deleted by users but for recovery from the 
disk failure. 
Please backup necessary files to USB thumb drive by yourselves.
