IIMC started the trial service for NII client certificate.

In using this service, users can obtain the client certificate issued by UPKI digital certificate issuance service,NII,easily, which takes a few minutes for obtaining.

The students and Faculty and Staff of Kyoto University can use this service and ECS-ID or SPS-ID are required in obtaining.

VPN, provided by KUINS, Private certificate for private certification in authenticating for the connetction of Wireless LAN, and S/MIME certificate for the digital signature and the encryption for all-university mail(KUMOI or KUMail) can be obtained.

• The user's manual of certificate will be released in order.
• The validation of the issued certificate are for 2 years and 1 month.
• No restrication for obataining the certificate for private authentication.
• S/MIME certificate is exclusive to all-university mail address(KUMOI or KUMail). Using several S/MIME certificates at the same time causes a problem and you can use only 1 certificate at the same time.(You can obtain the new S/MIME certificate if the old one was invaliated.)
