To students who remain in Kyoto University or enroll in the graduate school of Kyoto University in the new academic year

ECS-ID and Educational Computer System
Preparation for the New Academic year

To students who remain in Kyoto University or enroll in the graduate school of Kyoto University in the New Academic year, please read this.

Please keep using the same ECS-ID, password, and Student e-mail address while you are enrolled in Kyoto Univesity.

1. Users who will change their status in Kyoto University in the new academic year.

Some may need to take a procedure to revise their registered status to keep your ECS-ID active. We will send to the users who need to take this procedure, our notification of "Verification of User Eligibility for the Services of the Educational Computer System of the Institute for Information Management and Communication, Kyoto University" via
Student mail in June. If you receive it, follow the instructions.

If you receive an ECS-ID notification on which a different ECS-ID is printed in April, please visit ICT Support Center (Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, South Building).

2. Please adhere to the limitation of the storage of files.

Each user is allowed to use 300 MB for file storage.
Please organize and backup your data regularly and keep the limitation.
Your current file usage (Windows/Linux) are shown on the screen of PCs of Educational Computer System (please click [個人使用量確認]).

3.Limit on printing

Maximum 200 sheets of paper per year (from April 1 to March 31). If you exceed the limit, use the pay-per-print printers. You can check your usage on the screen of PCs of Educational Computer System (please click [印刷枚数確認]).
The usage is reset on every April 1 regardless the remaining number of sheets.
