Application to use distance educations classrooms

For Distance Education Support Services, it is necessary to choose appropriate facilities and settings that match the purposes and environment of the class or lecture. We need advance preparations and have sufficient discussions with persons who use the service. We ask that you consult with Distance Education Support Services as early as possible. It is not necessary to give us concrete information on the time and content of the lectures or classes. Please fill in the required items in the form that appears when you click the link for 'Inquiries' near the top of the left menu on this page. When you have decided to implement distance learning, you will need to submit a request to the head of the Institute for Information Management and Communication (IIMC).

  • In consultation, we will try to match the type of services with your requests., We will have to confirm various items related to the class or lecture. Please let us know things that you have already decided and what requests regarding the class or lecture.
  • It is also possible to apply on-line to use some of the video-conferencing systems. After having once used the system, a user can thereafter contact us by emailing us or by filling in the inquiry form on the 'Inquiries' link on the menu on the top left of the page.

  • Distance Education Support Services is unavailable on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and at night (after 7 pm). Please exclude these hours when you plan to use these services.
  • Connection TEST

We recommend a connection test in advance to confirm the quality and required set up of connections. We mainly have the following three levels of tests. We will decide through discussions for which level of test is necessary. In some cases, we may also ask this person to attend the tests to confirm that the system is working properly.

  • Full connection TEST: This connection test exactly simulate the environment on the day of the event. To confirm quality and the proper working of various devices, we ask that the person who applied for the distance education service be present at this test.
  • Simplified TEST: This is a test to check the on-site devices and network communications. It is not absolutely necessary that someone from your organization be present for the test; however, please be aware that it does not clarify all the technical glitches or problems that may occur.
  • No connection TEST: This applies to situations in which connections in the past worked well in a similar environment and connections can be confirmed in preparations of the event. Please be aware, however, that connections will not always succeed on the day of the event.
