Computing Services

The renewed system A (Camphor 2) is available on October.
The system B and C is also to be replaced with the new system B (Laurel 2) and C (Cinnamon 2) in the beginning of 2017.
Please refer to the "Super computer system" for an overview of the new system.

The Computing Services provide large-scale scientific computations on our large-scale supercomputer systems. Our systems support computational chemistry, structural analysis, statistical processing, and visualization application programs for researchers of Kyoto University as well as academic researchers nationwide. We also provide technical consultations on programming and tuning, and seminars that help users to learn programming technology and how to use the application programs.

Service Lineup

Supercomputer System
Our Supercomputer System consists of the System A, B, C, D and E, and supports several high-performance application software.
System User's Guide
Licensing Service
This service provides users with high-performance application software available on our systems at law price.
Use of Large-Format Printer
This service offers users to print large-format posters for presentations at academic conferences.
User Portal
User Portal is the portal site that users can change passwords and apply for use of services.

Necessary Application Procedures

Application Procedure (Obtaining a User ID)
User ID is required for the minimum computation resources available on our systems as well as use of the Large-Format Printer.
Applying for Services
For full use of our systems, application is required during the application periods scheduled twice in a year. For use of Licensing Service, application is also required.

Use for Projects (needs to be adopted through regularly-scheduled public calls)

High Performance Computing Infrastructure (HPCI)
HPCI is supported with the resources of RIKEN and nine universities and research institutions.
Procedure Before Starting HPCI
HPCI Identity Vetting & HPCI User's Guide
Joint Usage/Research Center for Interdisciplinary Large-scale Information Infrastructures (JHPCN)
JHPCN is a "network-type" joint usage and collaborative research center, and is made up of eight centers equipped with supercomputers.
Supercomputer Collaborative Research Projects
The Projects are designed for enhancing performance of parallel programming, large-scale computation, and young scientists.
Advanced Large-scale Computing System Service
This service is designed for private organizations.
