KUMOI (address,etc.) FAQ

You can use until end of March of the academic year that you belong to Kyoto University.

In general, your e-mail address is not changed when you go on to a graduate school. If your e-mail address is changed, you should contact to the support desk at the ACCMS South Bldg. with your student ID card and your ECS-ID notification sheet.

You can use your ECS-ID and KUMOI when your position is changed to Research Fellow or Research Fellow of JSPS. Please come to ACCMS South Building Support Desk with your ID issued by Kyoto University to change your status in our system.

Faculty members who have KUMail accounts cannot use KUMOI.

In the webpage of the above URL, you click the botton "Login to Setting" in "Re-set of password & e-mail forward," and you can see an user menu on the left side. Click "Set mail forwarding" and your e-mail address is displayed on the forwarding setting screen. You should logged out from the user menu on the left side after you check your e-mail address.

If you forget your ECS-ID or password, you should go to the support desk at the first floor of ACCMS South Building and consult with the staff.

Your e-mail address is automatically generated, and you cannot change in general. We will accept changes when your family name is changed, you get married, you are a stalker victim, or your e-mail address includes clear mistakes or is inappropriate. In these cases, you should consult with the support desk on the first floor of ACCMS South Building with your student/staff ID cards.

Basically, KUMOI is provided for students of Kyoto University.

  • All students can use KUMOI.
  • Faculty and staff members: Use KUMail (e-mail service for faculty and staff members). You can use KUMOI only if you cannot use KUMail.

    In general, you can use KUMail with your SPS-ID. You should check whether you can get SPS-ID.

  • Professor Emeritus can use KUMOI.

Your e-mail address in KUMOI is automatically generated if you already have an ECS-ID.
For people who cannot get SPS-ID and your are not a student, please consult with the support desk on the first floor of ACCMS South Building with your student/staff ID cards.

The e-mail address can be changed as long as you have a rational reason.
However, please note that you can't choose your favorite alphanumeric characters in your email address because they are automatically generataed on the system.
