Computing Services FAQ

Use of a supercomputer

[Batch 05]: An error message "Too many processors requested. Job not submitted." appears after I attempted executing a job using the qsub command.

This error message appears when the requested amount of computation resources exceeded the upper limit of the resources allocated per job for each queue.

The upper limit per job for each queue means the number of nodes notified via E-mail. In the Group Course, users also may check it as shown in STD using the qgroup command (System A, System B and C).

When requesting resources exceeding the memory capacity per core (see below), the amount of cores corresponding to the memory capacity is assigned.. For example, when executing a program with 4 processes that request 3,000 MB memory per process in the System A, 3 cores divided 3,000 MB by 1,355 MB with any fraction rounded up, the resources of 12 cores (3 cores x 4 processes) is assigned.

SystemMemory Capacity Per Core
A 1,920MB
B 3,413MB
C 42,666MB
E 3,072MB
